A Message from the Executive Director
This year‘s second quarter was full of activity at FLCRC, with the 2nd Annual Hat & Tea Soirée fundraiser and 8th Annual Summer Enrichment Camp being our largest events. The quarter kicked off with our participation in DA Brian Middleton’s Kinship, Connecting & Healing event on April 10th honoring crime victims. During this special event, DA Middleton presented FLCRC with the Expose Excellence DA Bike Ride Grant. On April 11th, we received a generous check from Constable Sheikhani of Precinct 3, who donated his first-quarter salary to benefit local nonprofits. Our Y.A.L.E. leaders held a special April meeting that featured student internship interviews, a College and Career Seminar, and the students‘ presentation of Mother‘s Day gift baskets to their mothers. At our five-day Summer Enrichment Camp in June, students participated in sessions on financial literacy, STEM, robotics and drones, creative arts, fitness, field trips and more. The highly anticipated water slide offered a fun and revitalizing ending to the week! Our Hat & Tea Soirée on May 3rd was also a resounding success! Guests enjoyed an inspiring panel discussion. Our Y.A.L.E. interns displayed their exceptional leadership skills, and the vendor booths were a standout element. We are pleased to announce that this event raised $2,000 to support the youth leaders‘ 2026 trip to Canada. We are dedicated to Building Better Communities by Building Stronger Families. July 1st marked the launch of our 2025-2026 capital campaign, FLCRC’s Future: Building a New Generation of Leaders. We invite your support as we head into this exciting new chapter for our organization! Learn more at FamilyLifeCRC.org/campaign. Sincerely,
Ilene Harper, Ph.D. |
