Tyrone Smith

Position: Master of Ceremonies

Tyrone Smith, a natural born goal-getter with a strong dedication to making a difference in society. A true role-model who spends his days in the struggle of being a light to the world and an inspiration to the youth. Though he started off as an undrafted free agent for the National Football League (NFL), Smith joined the San Francisco 49ers organization from 1996–1998. Being a determined young man with the rare ability to see the shining light in people, Tyrone discovered his true purpose in life was to empower the people around him. His teammates also felt this energy, and it was astonishing when he took the misfortune of an injury as an opportunity to pursue a career as a motivational speaker. Many could view that life-changing decision as a sacrifice, but Tyrone, being a man of strong-will, found happiness and fulfillment in helping people actualize their goals in life. Tyrone continues to inspire people and gives them the mental boost they need to become the best version of themselves. He also takes his advice by pushing his career limits as a former professional athlete, mentor, businessman and now first-time author.

Tyrone is a published author with the recent release of his book titled Outside the Huddle: Steps to Developing a Game Plan for Life. Outside the Huddle describes Tyrone’s heart-pounding journey from being an at-risk, inner city youth struggling in school with personal setbacks and yet making it to the NFL to life after football. He has shared this message of hope and success for years as a motivational speaker, reaching thousands of youth and young adults along the way.

He is the Founder of First and Goal Incorporated, a non-profit organization that provides the support and resources to help youth succeed in life. His organization has helped propel thousands of bright minds in actualizing their life goals and achievements. Tyrone is also a youth minister at The Church Without Walls in Houston, Texas.
