Dr. Sharon Delesbore recently retired after 30 years of dedicated service in public education, where she served as a science teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal at both the middle and high school levels, middle school principal, and dean of instruction for a P-TECH health science program. Her career reflects a deep commitment to instructional excellence, leadership development, and student-centered practices.

Beyond campus leadership, Dr. Delesbore has shared her expertise as a consultant with organizations such as the Leadership and Learning Center, the International Center for Leadership Education, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She continues to serve the profession through her community and professional leadership roles as President of the Board of Directors for the Association for Multicultural Science Education, Board Member-at-Large for the National Science Teaching Association, and Board Member of the Innovation Collaborative.

Dr. Delesbore believes effective instructional leadership is rooted in relationships—being present, approachable, and intentional—so that every student and educator feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. Dr. D. is excited to bring her experiences and expertise to F.L.C.R.C.

Denise Bean is a Louisiana native and has resided in Texas for the past 28 years. She’s a graduated of McNeese State University. Employed by the State of Texas for 27 years as a Social Worker advocating and protecting children involving abuse and neglect. Denise retired from the State in December 2019. Her hobbies include Interior Design and Event Planning. Denise brings to FLCRC her expertise of planning projects, leading the organization volunteers, and committed to making a difference in the lives of the youth.

Dr. Ilene Harper is the founder and Executive Director of the Family Life and Community Resource Center (FLCRC). She has spent twenty-nine years in the field of education inspiring and motivating students, parents and educators. Dr. Harper received a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University, two Masters’ Degrees and her undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University.

Dr. Harper has led successful K-12 school district initiatives that resulted in national and state awards. Passionately believing in people and getting others to believe in them is her mission. Dr. Harper has presented to thousands at national, state and local conferences. In 2013, she was selected to present at a Congressional Briefing on School Discipline in Washington, DC. Likewise, she has been highlighted as a leader in education in several issues of the national magazine, Educational Leadership. Dr. Harper received a Proclamation from Mayor of the City of Sugar Land for her work on Diversity Education and was selected by the Fort Bend County Judge to serve on Community Engagement Committee. She is the author of the College and Career Preparation Manual, Youth Ambassador Leadership Education program, and numerous training materials.

Dr. Harper is a Silver Star and life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Education Chair of the NAACP Missouri City & Vicinity Branch, a board member with the TW Davis YMCA and advisory council member for Child Advocates of Fort Bend. Dr. Harper is a wife and mother to three beautiful children and three darling grandchildren.
