Welcome from the Executive DirectorCelebrating 10 years of Service! We are SUPER excited about 2022 and our move to the new location. With the help and support of dedicated donors, volunteers, students, parents, staff and the community, our dream of moving to a larger facility is now a reality. FLCRC anticipate the Grand Reopening to be Summer 2022. We remain committed to providing creative and innovative programs in the community and our new location will provide even more opportunities for engagement. In January, FLCRC welcomed Y.A.L.E. leaders to the sixth year of this amazing youth program committed to “Leading the Way through Service Learning.” Y.A.L.E. leaders were eager to volunteer in the brisk winter temperature at the MLK Day of Service Food Distribution drive. On February 19th, FLCRC staff members and student leaders participated with A Day of Remembrance for the Sugar Land 95. Y.A.L.E. leaders made posters to commemorate this important time in history. The event was educational, powerful, and motivational. In March, several Y.A.L.E. students posted Spring Break Challenge photos of leadership in preparation for the upcoming summer events. On March 26th, Y.A.L.E. leaders had an in-person site visit to FLCRC’s new location and shared their ideas about how the facility should be utilized to serve our community. FLCRC is celebrating a milestone year and we invite you to join us for the Grand Reopening, Summer Camp 2022, the Back-2-School Parent Chat and much more! Please stay connected with us by downloading the FLCRC App, liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Sincerely, Ilene Harper, Ph.D. |
