On Saturday, February 22nd, FLCRC hosted Keep Black History Alive in 2025!, an inspiring program celebrating Black History Month.
The program featured a variety of engaging presentations and entertainment. Dr. Cleo Wadley provided a comprehensive examination of Black History spanning 400 years. The Y.A.L.E. student leaders demonstrated their knowledge in a Black History Quiz Bowl competition, shared beautiful musical performances, and engaged in a podcast discussion on the Community Garden in Kendleton with Fort Bend County Judge KP George. Attendees enjoyed a stunning African attire fashion show and an informative panel discussion on contemporary Black History topics. The event was further enhanced by an interactive Black History “Learning Log” activity for our students from The Links Inc. Katy Chapter, an impressive display of exhibits, refreshments and prizes.
Thank you to our amazing presenters and performers, fashion show participants, volunteers, and all who attended and helped make this a very special occasion!
Together, we are keeping Black History alive!
