October closed out with some “ORANGE-tastic” events for our Y.A.L.E. students and community! The FLCRC National Bullying Awareness Virtual Conference took place on Saturday, October 23rd, at which the winners of the Y.A.L.E. pumpkin carving contest were announced! During the conference, students, parents and staff learned about the impact of bullying, participated in engaging breakout discussions and enjoyed ice breakers and prize giveaways. As part of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, this event utilized PACER’s You’re Not Alone curriculum, prompting rich discussion on topics related to bullying. Attendees also showed their support of Unity Day by wearing orange and sporting orange Zoom backgrounds.
Thank you to all of the Y.A.L.E. student participants for their imaginative pumpkin carving creations — and congratulations to First Place winners Landon, Jordan and Angela!
